Taxonomy The Greek compound Pterocaulon provided by Elliot was in fact neuter. Stearn declines the equivalent of alopecuroides, as bryoides (M/F), and it remains as 'bryoides' (N). He opined that DC. was excessively Latinizing the ending and that in fact there is no reason to change it from alopecuroides as it was under Conyza (F). [vide DJN Hind] [details]
