Taxonomy Jean-Sébastien Girard pers. comm. has pointed out that Antillanthus almironcillo (M.Gómez) B.Nord. is an illegitmate superfluous name as in Antillanthus as there is no existing name in the new genus using the epithet discolor which is the earliest available for this species. The confusion has arisen because in both Cacalia and Pentacalia there were previous combinations with the epithet discolor blocking its use. The correct combination has not yet been officially published and the status quo is maintained here for now. [details]
